Project Portal™ Support
Each Project Portal Project is assigned a dedicated ddms staff member to serve as that Project's Project Portal Manager. Their information is clearly posted on the Contact Management page and they may be contacted by any user of that Project at any time to field any question or concern about the system. New users are also provided with the Project Portal "Quick Start Guide". This is a brief document that quickly introduces the general layout of the site as well as the individual modules.
Beyond that, Project Portal contains two primary methods of obtaining support. The first tier is to use the online integrated help system. This provides valuable "how-to" type instructional help to assist them in using and navigating the system. Help icons are available on every page of the system. When a user clicks on an icon they are presented with help that specifically relates to the page they are working from in the system.
Secondly, if something in the system does not seem to be performing as expected or if the integrated help system has not answered a question adequately, the user can submit a Support Request through the support page. There a user is provided with a form through which to communicate directly to a Project Portal developer. They are also given the opportunity to CC the Project Manager, themselves as well as the Project Portal Manager.
