ddms is seeking a full-time, Environmental Data Technician for our San Diego, California office. The successful candidate will work as part of a geographically distributed team providing data management and visualization services to Superfund, energy and environmental remediation projects and clients.

Day-to-day activities will include  data and database importing, management and analysis; cloud application management, GIS analysis and map generation; and team meetings and conference calls. Some out of state travel may be required but will be infrequent.

Requirements include:

  • Exceptional work ethic;
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication skills;
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in one of the physical sciences, computer science, engineering or geography;
  • Fluency in the modern Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Demonstrable data analysis and reporting experience;
  • Minimum 1 years’ experience using Esri ArcGIS products or equivalent time using a relational database architecture;
  • Demonstrable database skills (e.g., Structured Query Language [SQL], Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Access);
  • Positive attitude and ability and desire to learn new technical skills quickly; and
  • Must be a self-motivator and enjoy problem solving

Desirable but not required:

  • Experience in the environmental, energy or natural resource industries;
  • Experience using EarthSoft’s EQuIS products;
  • Experience using CAD software and related products;
  • Experience using reporting software (e.g., SSRS, Crystal Reports,Tableau);
  • Experience programming/ scripting (Python, R, Java, C#, VB.NET…);
  • Experience using 3D modelling and visualization software; and
  • 40 hour OSHA health and safety certification
